Ramillete de Tonos
The ensemble explores new possibilities within a rich repertoire, and aims to recreate the intimate musical atmosphere of 16th century Spain. Founded by lutenist Kateřina Maňáková, the repertoire of the ensemble is inspired by her artistic research on intabulations of sacred music for vihuela de mano and on the use of instruments within vocal polyphony. The concept of this ensemble aims to demonstrate two ways of the intabulation process which were both present in Spain in the 16th century. One is the “spanish” way, which was very literal and used mostly for sacred polyphonic repertoire; the other is the “italian” way, full of flourished diminutions. Ramillete de Tonos is discovering new possibilities also through masterclasses with leading artists such as Maria Jonas or Adrián Rodríguez van den Spoel.
